Abdou Draman Touray founded VoLoAfrica and has been responsible for its growth since its inception. Like the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Touray does not simply manage the daily operations of the company; he believes in transformational leadership that is accomplished through direct engagement with his staff and clients. Prior to the VoLoAfrica Foundation, Mr. Touray developed his professional insight by leading technology projects for some of the most renowned companies in the world.
He served as President and CTO of Pristine Council and during this period Mr. Touray developed and deployed a biometric platform. This platform is currently used by the Gambian government. The system incorporates different types of documents; National ID (ID), Residential Permit and Driver's License. Prior to that, he served as Technical Director for Rivenet.com (which was later purchased by Weathsense), where he oversaw a team of 35 software developers and managed a $ 4 million technology budget.
Rivenet built the first web-based system was supposed to administer tax deferred benefits for highly paid executives. Mr. Touray began his professional career with Context Integration, a software consulting firm focused on developing financial systems for Wall Street companies. At the Context Integration, Mr. Touray served as a Project Leader and Guru NetDynamics, leading prominent accounts for companies such as Goldman Sachs, Booksonline, the Bermuda Commodity Exchange and Putnam Investments. Mr. Touray is a graduate of Columbia University in New York where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. He is a recipient of the 1996 Bradbury Scholarship Award. Originally from The Gambia, Mr Touray studied at St. Augustine where he had a Distinction in Arts. Currently, Mr. Touray is a member of the Board of Directors for the Francis Degaulle Njie Foundation. He is also a member of the Association of Calculating Machinists.
